Extensions & Renovations · Gold Coast
Second storeys, rear extensions and full renovations that look like they were always meant to be there. The same precision we bring to new builds — applied to the home you already love.
The Art of the Addition
The integration of old and new is where renovation work is won or lost. Done badly, an addition looks exactly like what it is — a tack-on with a mismatched roofline and a step in the floor. Done well, it reads as one cohesive home, and nobody can tell where the original ended and the new began.
That join — structurally, architecturally and in the finishes — is the craft we bring to every Gold Coast extension and renovation. Whether you're adding a second storey to capture a view, pushing out the rear for open-plan living, or gutting a dated interior back to studs, we treat your existing home with the same rigour as a new build.

What We Do
Add a level to capture views, ventilation and bedrooms without giving up your block or your address.
→Push out the rear or side for open-plan kitchen, living and indoor-outdoor entertaining zones.
→Full internal transformations — reconfigured layouts, new services, and a contemporary finish throughout.
→Standalone kitchen and bathroom renovations executed to the same standard as our full custom homes.
→Removing walls, opening up living spaces and re-engineering layouts with full structural certification.
→Additions to mid-century and older homes that lift the property without losing its original character.

Why It Matters
We bring the discipline, trades and finish of a new build to the more delicate work of extending and renovating an existing home.
Renovations are harder than new builds in the ways that matter — you're working around an existing structure, existing services and a family that often still lives there. That demands tighter sequencing, cleaner site management and a builder who communicates. Our director-led approach and live client portal keep you informed through every stage.
We renovate and extend across the Coast, including in Mermaid Waters, Burleigh Heads and Robina. If your home is beyond economic repair, ask us about a knock-down rebuild instead.

Frequently Asked
Extension and renovation costs vary widely with scope, but in 2026 quality Gold Coast additions typically run from around $4,000/m² for ground-floor extensions to $5,500–$7,000+/m² for second-storey additions, which carry extra structural and access costs. We provide a fully itemised quote after assessing your home.
Yes — second-storey additions are one of our most-requested services. We assess your existing footings and structure, engineer the addition, manage approvals and build it to integrate seamlessly with the home below.
Often, yes — depending on the scope. For staged renovations we sequence the work to keep part of the home liveable. For major whole-of-home work it's usually safer and faster to move out. We'll advise honestly at planning stage.
Yes. Heritage-sensitive renovations and extensions of mid-century and older Gold Coast and Brisbane stock are a specialty. We coordinate heritage consultants, structural engineers and council planners to lift the home without losing its character.
Most extensions require building approval, and some require a development application depending on size, boundary setbacks and overlays. Mintconstruct manages the full approval process for you as part of the project.
A kitchen or bathroom renovation may take 6–10 weeks; a major extension or whole-of-home renovation typically runs 4–9 months depending on scope, structure and approvals. You'll have a binding programme before we start.
